The online Master of Education in Teaching and Learning is open to eligible students in the U.S. (including the District of Columbia and all U.S. territories). The program is closed to students residing in countries other than the U.S. except for U.S. military and State Department personnel and their family members with APO/FPO addresses.

Benefit from a Program Designed for Working Adults
The online Master of Education (MEd) in Teaching and Learning is designed primarily for individuals who have already completed coursework to obtain an initial educational license or addition to a license at the graduate level and now wish to complete a master’s degree to prepare for leadership roles.
This 30-credit program can be completed in 18-24 months of full-time study if the student follows a department advisor’s recommended sequence of courses. Students have the option of extending the program should they choose a less aggressive schedule. The University allows part-time students to take up to seven years to earn the degree. However, the program is typically completed in far less time.
Students who have completed non-degree licensure or certification programs may apply that coursework toward the MEd degree as appropriate. All courses are offered online. On-campus visits are not required.
Licensure Information
The MEd in Teaching and Learning does not lead to initial licensure for purposes of educator certification. The program is designed for students who want to expand their knowledge and skills at the graduate level.

What You’ll Learn in the Online Teaching and Learning Program
Our Teaching and Learning MEd consists of a 21-credit Professional Education Core and nine credits of Directed Electives. You will work with your advisor to select an array of elective courses based on your interests and career goals. Common choices focus on elementary, secondary, and special education, teaching English as a second language, and assessment and evaluation.
Our Master of Education in Teaching and Learning opens up a variety of career opportunities in the field of education. Our graduates possess valuable leadership skills in key areas, including instruction and curriculum planning in educational settings.
The MEd is also preparation for doctoral programs.

All educator licensure programs and related school programs at Indiana State University are accredited by the Indiana Department of Education and Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
Admission Requirements and Instructions
Applicants are encouraged to apply early to ensure admission. The admission application and all application material must be received by the following deadlines to ensure consideration for the desired semester or term.

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum requirements.
Admission Requirements
Applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited postsecondary educational institution.
Applicant must have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; - or – a minimum GPA of 3.0 in all courses taken at the graduate level.
Applicant must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours in the social/behavioral sciences (e.g., psychology, sociology, political science, education, or anthropology) at the undergraduate level.
Applicant must submit a required written statement of purpose that explains how the degree fits in with the applicant’s professional goals. The statement should be one to two pages, double-spaced, and typed in either ten- or twelve-point typeface.
The GRE (Graduate Record Examination) is not required for admission to this program.

Submit official transcripts from all colleges previously attended. To be official, transcripts must be sent directly from the college attended to: Graduate Admissions, Indiana State University, Welcome Center, 318 North Sixth Street, Terre Haute, IN, 47809. E-transcripts should be sent to admissions@airllevant.com.
Submit a nonrefundable application fee of $45.00 (U.S. citizens and permanent residents) or $65.00 (international students) payable by Visa, MasterCard, or check or money order payable to Indiana State University. Submit payment to: Indiana State University, Graduate Admissions, Welcome Center, 318 North Sixth Street, Terre Haute, IN, 47809.

Next Steps
Once admitted, students receive notification from the University as well as their University ID number needed to activate their University Username on the MyISU Portal. The Portal offers access to online registration, University records, and other important University services, including e-mail and University announcements
