Communicate Global Issues
In the Cultural Communication BA program, you will analyze cultural values, messages, politics, gender communication, national identities, media trends, and everyday communication methods. At the same time, you will hone your communication skills in our state-of-the-art multimedia production studios and instructional laboratory spaces.

What You'll Learn in the Cultural Communication Program
The BA in cultural communication emphasizes communication around the world and in various cultures. You will learn to describe the theories, perspectives, principles, and concepts in cultural communication, then utilize these theories to frame and examine local, national, and global issues of contemporary communication culture.
The curriculum includes courses on media and society; persuasion theories; media and identity; production of cultural and national identity; political communication; organizational communication; gender communication; and new media writing, among other applied cultural communication topics.
Your program will conclude with a senior capstone project. You will reflect upon and integrate diverse cultural theories and concepts in a collaborative learning activity that relates to your career path and interests.
Transfer Credit
Indiana State University accepts credit from regionally accredited colleges and universities within the United States, and from selected schools located outside the United States. Credit also may be granted for military training and experience. Previously earned college credit can be applied toward completion of the program per Indiana State's transfer guidelines.
