Program Availability
The Applied Computer Science Certificate program is open to currently enrolled students (except Computer Science BS majors) who wish to increase employability. The program is particularly suited for students interested in computer programming, object-oriented design, web design and programming, databases, and computer networks. Students should consult with their advisors before enrolling in courses to ensure suitability and to plan their program of study.

Program Highlights
The Applied Computer Science Certificate program introduces you to common computer science principles, including advanced studies in computer programming, object-oriented design, web design and programming, databases, and computer networks. You will solve complex problems, design and implement algorithms, and gain experience in new technologies to further your professional development in all areas of computer science.
Courses
To earn the certificate in applied computer science, you will complete 10 credits that include an introduction to computer science and other courses on web programming and programming structures. You will take an additional six credits in elective computer science courses.
Transfer Credit
Indiana State University accepts credit from regionally accredited colleges and universities within the United States, and from selected schools located outside the United States. Credit also may be granted for military training and experience. Previously earned college credit can be applied toward completion of the program per Indiana State's transfer guidelines.
